<p>Activist Rush Week is the largest outreach effort by the activist community at UCSD. Beginning the morning of Jan<br />
14th and ending on Jan 18th with the &#8220;Party with a Purpose&#8221;, ARW will be a week-long series of events allowing you to learn more about on-campus organizations working on such issues as Trade Justice, Gender Equality, Racial Equality, Freedom of Speech, Climate Change, Informed Consumption, Progressive Politics and Sustainability.</p>
<p>It&#8217;s the perfect opportunity to finally get involved in things that actually matter in the world, and help shatter the notion that UCSD is a politically sterile environment.</p>
<p>While we are still working out some of the specifics, we will definitely have free Film Screenings. We will table everyday for you to come by, meet us, and get information. We will even have a UCSD record breaking group hug on the 18th.</p>

<p>Calpirg - California Public Interest Research Group<br />
&gt;&gt; CALPIRG takes on powerful interests on behalf of Californians, working to win concrete results for our health and our well-being. With researchers, advocates, organizers and students, we stand up to powerful special interests to stop identity theft, fight political corruption, provide safe and affordable prescription drugs, strengthen voting rights and more.</p>
<p>Justice Corps<br />
&gt;&gt; An offshoot of IV (Inter Varsity) dedicated to the advancement of Social and Environmental Issues</p>
<p>OEOJ - One Earth One Justice<br />
&gt;&gt; One Earth One Justice is an active social justice group that raises awareness to environmental and social injustices. OEOJ is non-hierarchical and has been instrumental in getting Fair Trade products in the dining halls, coffee shop and other locations as well as bringing biodegradable utensils while pushing strongly for reusable resources.</p>
<p>SESC - Social and Environmental Sustainability Committee<br />
&gt;&gt; SESC is an Associated Students (AS) advisory committee that is official umbrella organization unifying groups dedicated to Social and Environmental Sustainability.</p>
<p>CSAP - Coalition of South Asian People<br />
&gt;&gt; Dedicated to accurate portrayal of the Complexity, Interests, Culture, Politics, and Issues pertaining to South Asian Americans and South Asians.</p>
<p>Arusha Project<br />
&gt;&gt; Provides education and service opportunities on issues in gender equality and sexual health, with special emphasis on HIV/AIDS.</p>
<p>VOX<br />
&gt;&gt; Exists to educate the university community about reproductive health and rights, to translate increased awareness into pro-choice activism on campus, and to serve as a coalition to state, national, and international reproductive rights efforts.</p>
<p>SAAC<br />
&gt;&gt; Student Affirmative Action Committee brings together various student Orgs dedicated to serving underrepresented groups on campus.</p>
<p>HERO<br />
&gt;&gt; student organization that educates young people and advocates birth control and a womens right to choose as a means to stabilize the world population at a level that can be sustained by the Earth&#8217;s resources</p>
<p>Love146<br />
&gt;&gt; Love146 works toward the abolition of child sex trafficking and exploitation through aftercare, prevention and advocacy.</p>
<p>MiRA - Migrant Rights Awareness<br />
&gt;&gt; Migrant Rights Awareness are determined to foster change in our community so that all people regardless of immigration status are guaranteed absolute access to equal rights and opportunities and are perceived as being deserving of the same.</p>
