Summary of Bake-Off

- We made about 30 dollars, but after reimbursing people, 14 dollars profit!

- We could have publicized more/better

Rice-Eating Contest is this Friday, the 19th at 12pm

- We have people for Marshall, Muir and Revelle; Yuki will call for someone from 6th, we need someone from ERC, and Nina will check for someone from Warren

- We need to email college councils and the individuals participating to remind them of the event, and tell councils to come support their college

- Rishi, Yuki, Daniel and Nina have rice-cookers , and Yuki will bring the rice

- Nishma/Vivek will come early at 11am

- Listserves need to be contacted:

o June—GC, SESC

o Yuki—OEOJ, Amnesty, STAND, VOX

o Michael—MIRA

o Vivek—CSAP

Fair Trade Sugar in Dining Halls

- There is a meeting with Julia, the Culinary Director on Friday after the rice eating contest at 3pm

- Our long term goal in this project is to create awareness about Fair Trade options and have Fair Trade sugar and other items purchased on campus

- Yuki contacted the Fairbanks by Center Hall and they have FT sugar

SOà this Friday the 19th:

  1. 12p- Rice eating contest
  2. Take pictures of FT items/Go to other Fairbanks
  3. Meeting w/ Culinary Director, Julia at 3pm

USFT are coming this weekend

- Tentatively, we will meet at 1pm to get ready and watch the live webcast of Mohhamed Yunus’ talk which is at 2pm (Maybe at Jessica’s house).

- After, we will go to SIPS, and later try out the milkshakes for the milkshake event

Debate, Friday the 25th:

- Still no response from the opposition, Rishi will contact the college Republicans to see if they are interested in participating

- If there is still no response, it will just be a teach-in

Milkshake Event, Friday the 25th at 12pm

- To publicize the Debate

- Jess Wall and Rishi will provide blenders

Funding

- Nishma, Po and Rishi went to the meeting

- Due 5th week, the 31st at noon

- On Sunday, we will make a funding plan
